Inside our August 2019 "Over The Top" Issue feat. Chun Jin
Just because things are mellowing with summer coming to an end, it does not equate to having to tone down on being extravagant and outrageous.
And where dramatism is brewing, L’Officiel Malaysia is never far behind. Hence, the "Over The Top" theme for the August 2019 issue is rightfully fronted by China's very own cool-girl Chun Jin, dressed in Daniel Lee’s
debut collection for Bottega Veneta – a collection that resonates with our theme, evident in its Fall 2019 campaign.
Shot by photographer Yi Tuo in Shanghai, we take Chun Jin on a rather eclectic and almost "underground" through the less glamorous version of Shanghai – a raw, unrefinedly chic pictorial that L'Officiel often embrace.
The runway this fall is certainly not for the faint of heart with both fashion and beauty pulling off a slew of radical and avant-garde key looks and concepts as seen in Autumn/Winter 2019, and Young, Wild and Free respectively.
Meanwhile, High Society explores how high jewellery stacks up against its fine jewellery counterpart, speaking of which we see Gucci emerge as the newest player in the bejewelled sphere.
The issue is undoubtedly time to shine the spotlight on exemplary timepieces from this year’s Baselworld and SIHH, highlighting watchmakers such as Patek Philippe, Omega, Cartier, Bulgari, Citizen, Gucci and more, and including all those that add flamboyance and fun through a sparkling rainbow palette in Colour and Substance.
