In her illustrious career that spans nearly three decades Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza (@ctdk) has reached the highest highs and risen from the lowest lows. She has recorded over 20 studio albums, raked in more than 300 awards and conquered the biggest stages notably London’s Royal Albert Hall where she held a large-scale solo concert—a feat no other Malaysians have managed to replicate.

Now, the songstress has added another gold star on her mantle: becoming the face of Swarovski’s latest Raya 2022 campaign. Siti, who was introduced to the wonderful world of Swarovski crystals by an unnamed fan that gifted her the iconic Crystal Swan and rings, has been a loyal fan of the brand for quite some time, recalling her first purchase being over five years ago.

The campaign is a full-circle moment for the singer as she’s decked with spectacular Swarovski designs that centre on the verdant hue of green, accented with white, yellow and rose metallics. Fashion-forward bracelets, rings and necklaces as well as stunning timepieces elevate her every look and encourage an effusive sense of hope and promise.

How did the collaboration with Swarovski come into being?

It all started when I was made an offer by Swarovski. I felt that Swarovski is special in the sense that it is a brand that emphasises on fearless self-expression, celebrates individuality and spreads the message of inclusivity. As we are transitioning into the endemic phase, I feel that this collaboration is timely as it represents a celebration that glitters with the promise of a brighter future.

What’s your favourite piece from the latest collection?

One of the items that I really like is the Lucent Cocktail ring. Its vibrant colour makes it quite visible and tends to stand out as soon as I put it on. On a quieter day, I may colour-match it with my outfit for a monotone look—though the ring is still impossible to miss—but I’d pile more pieces on for a vibrant, maximalist clash of colours when I feel like getting loud.

They say that jewellery is the best kind of family heirloom. Do you have a piece that you inherited from your mother?

Yes, I do have a few pieces that I inherited from my mother. It’s quite common for folks those days to keep their jewellery and pass it on to the next generation. As mothers, it’s only natural for us to want our daughters to inherit some of our jewellery pieces and accessories, hence for (my daughter) Siti Aafiyah, she certainly has quite the collection which I intend to pass on to her.

Has she shown any interest in your jewellery?

She has! She is used to watching me get prepared before attending any event and I’d always put on accessories like rings, necklaces and bracelets. She would also ask for the same pieces that I choose to put on. Personally, I have reserved quite a few items that I used to wear during my younger days and I have also kept some pieces gifted by my husband for her to wear when she’s older.

Can you share with us your upcoming projects?

I have plans for a new album underway but it will take some time before it is released, as I want to ensure that I have good quality and amazing songs, so stay tuned. Once we have finalised the process, I will be making an official announcement. I’m quite excited for this next album.
