5 minutes with Bright and Bella for their new film Congrats My Ex!

The star-studded cast led by Bright and Bella has shaken up the entertainment world with excitement and anticipation as both are among two of the biggest Thai celebrities of today.

And we had the rare opportunity to sit down with Bright and Bella for a media roundtable session right before the launch of the film (the film has launched on 16th November 2023 on the leading streaming platform Prime Video).

What was your first impression of each other? After working together, did the first impression change?

Bright: I met her (Bella) at an event. She’s a successful star here in Thailand and so that’s why I went to her and I asked her for a photo. That’s the first time we met. 

When I first met her,  I felt like she was a superstar, but when we got to know each other, I think she is like us, normal people. She has so many sides. She's funny. She's playful. She's friendly.

Bella: Oh right, that was maybe 4 or 5 years ago? For me, I thought he would keep cool and be very quiet all the time, but he wasn't. He's funny and we had such a great time that we work together.

How different or similar do you think your character and your real-life personality are?

Bright: I think for me and Tim, we both love to try new things. We love to have new experiences and apart from that, I think we kind of have the same sense of humour.

Bella: For me and Risa, I think what's similar is we are both very clumsy, but, we are both also very professional when it comes to work. Risa is also very effortlessly funny, which I think I am too and I can resonate with her that way.

We saw both of you wearing traditional Indian costumes in the movie, and both of you appear to be dancing together. Did you have any special preparation for that scene?

Bright: A lot! We had many days for rehearsal. I think about five to seven days. I had to work very hard for that because I'm not a good dancer. I'm a terrible dancer. I'm proud of myself that I made it in the end.

Bella: We did the fitting for the costumes and we rehearsed for so many days. My skirt was so heavy and it made it hard to dance. There is even a Bollywood team to help us with the scenes. They taught us a lot about Indian acting and dancing. So it’s a really good experience!

So given the theme of this movie, are you the kind of person who doesn't mind staying friends with your ex?

Bright: I think it depends on how we end our relationship. If it's good, then  I think we can still be friends. For me, an ex-girlfriend is like a friend right now. So yeah, like friends will always help friends and it is a very easy decision.

So this film revolves around weddings. What would your own dream wedding be?

Bright: Honestly, the wedding itself is not my priority, but I think my dream wedding will be the one that makes my girlfriend or wife-tobe so happy. So, it's all up to her. Do what you want and I will support you. Be happy, and that will be my dream wedding.

Bella: If I were to have one, maybe by the sea? It will be with all my close friends and family. I'd like an intimate and warm wedding.

Your birthdays are actually just a few days apart, right? On December 24th for Bella and December 27th for Bright. So, what would you buy for each other as a birthday gift?

Bright: I would buy her a carpet because she always tells me that she's clumsy and she always get her carpet dirty easily.

Bella: I would buy him a camera because he loves taking photos.
