We've done a news drop for you recently on the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event, where the Korean manufacturer unveils the new Samsung Galaxy S21 series and Galaxy Buds Pro wireless earbuds and now we have some exciting news to share with you.

Ahead of its official launch in Malaysia later this month (which is now available for pre-order from 15th to 28th January 2021), Samsung has reached out to us to let us have a test run the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G smartphone!

This we are here right now to give you our first impressions on this epic new device!

First, let us talk about the design. The new Samsung S21 Ultra is the largest in the S21 series and while we say it is the largest, the silhouette is still sleek and comfortable to be held on hand with a smaller build compared to its Galaxy Note counterparts.

While it weighs slightly more than the Samsung Note 20 Ultra smartphone, the Galaxy S21 Ultra sports a more rounded and solid body that is comfortable to hold with one hand and navigate through the entirety of the screen.

Unlike its other S21 models, the Samsung S21 Ultra features only two coloursPhantom Black and Phantom Silver – focusing on a more classic monotone colourway.

On startup, the guide towards transferring your data and apps from your old smartphone is completely seamless, especially when you are already using a previous Samsung Galaxy model – be it the S series of the Note series. All you need is a single double-headed type-C cable and you're good to go.

Taglined "Epic. In Every Way", the Samsung Galaxy S21 does not disappoint in terms of speed and pure specs. One of the notable features is the Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, said to be Samsung's most intelligent screen yet.

Compared to the S20, the S21 Ultra has a 25% brighter picture and 50% improved contrast ratio, resulting in a display that can comfortably play any Ultra HD and 4K movies perfectly, which is great news to those of us stuck at home for the current MCO 2.0 and in need of crystal clear entertainment.

And for those worrying about excessive screen time, the Eye Comfort Shield incorporated inside the display is here to help reduce eye fatigue.

To top it off, you can now utilise the S Pen from the Galaxy Note series with this device – bridging the seamless usability between Samaung technology – a definite plus point for us!

When ti comes to the S series, camera is definitely the biggest highlight we are obsessed with and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra does not disappoint with its new innovations.

With a quad-rear camera that consists of an ultra-wide, wide and dual tele-lenses; and a 108MP pro sensor, photos taken with this model is simply picture perfect. Not to mention, there is the new and improved 100x zoom, a feature that allows you to take photos from an extreme distance and still get optimum results, which we are excited for – especially for future usage during concerts, fashion shows and even when we want to tourist around with it.

There is now also an option for 12-bit RAW images files that you can take professional-grade photos without losing on quality.

For video, you can now shoot up to 8K quality in 60 fps with both its front and rear camera – a bonus for those looking to shoot seamlessly while changing the camera perspective. Plus, you can choose any video frame from the recorded video to be extracted as a 33MP high-resolution photograph!

And that wraps up our first look into the new Samsung Galaxy Ultra S21! We will get on with more test and review of the phone before giving you our final verdict, so stay tuned to 5th February where we will have a proper full review of this epic smartphone!
