4 inspiring beauty trends from Fall/Winter 2022 runways

BARELY VISIBLE

What goes around comes around as the Y2K aesthetic is a big hit now with bleached brows from the ’90s riding the popularity wave this year. Most noticeably, makeup artists lightened models’ eyebrows at Versace and paired them with dark smudged eyeshadows.

At Givenchy, an alien-like beauty took the spotlight matched with silver jewels. While bleached arches enhanced the softness of the no-makeup look at Alexandre Vauthier, Junya Watanabe’s models sported a cyber-punk vibe replete with bright lips.

BE DAZZLED

Though sparkling face gems have been ruling the runways for a few seasons, makeup artists continue to up the ante, gracing models’ faces with bolder bejewelled iterations for this season. Simone Rocha encased models’ eyes with detailed wing- like shapes, embellished with gems and pearls; while Burberry adorned the full visage with crystal gems and embossed the House’s logo in the mix.

Gucci and Paul Costelloe went for eye makeup with rhinestones on the under-eyes as well as exquisitely framing them all around the eyes.

DRAW THE LINE

Eyeliner moments are undoubtedly the highlights of fashion shows and this season is no different with simple yet graphical black liner taking centre stage on the runways.

Whether taking cues from Rochas and Saint Laurent’s dramatic and thick black eyeliner look or the minimalistic graphic liner curve over the crease as seen at Paul & Joe and Maitrepierre, these stunning yet wearable eyeliner looks are your go-to inspiration for drawing attention.

BRAIDY BUNCH

Braids brought top-notch drama to the Fall 2022 runways. Hairstylists created a crown-like braided hairstyle at Collina Strada and Ambush that stole the show.

Rokh presented models with triangle box braids instead of parting the hair in an ordinary square form. At Coperni, thinner box braids are styled side-parted, leaving a few strands of braids at the back on one side.
