Chanel introduces twelve new matte and luminous shades to the 31 LE ROUGE collection

Leave it to Chanel to transform a lipstick into an objet d'art.

First introduced in 2023, 31 LE ROUGE is inspired by the mirrored staircase at 31 rue Cambon – the storied Chanel sanctuary that was once a residence, boutique, and atelier. It’s said that Mademoiselle Chanel would watch her own collections from the fifth step through the angled panes. To replicate the symmetry and clean lines, Chanel used all its expertise in high perfumery and dedicated four years to crafting a chic, resilient, and exceptionally thin glass lipstick case.

The faceted glass case catches light mesmerizingly with a golden accent. interchangeable bullet’s metal mechanism gleams through, while the shade of the lipstick visible beneath the engraved Chanel monogram adds a ruby touch to the design.

Speaking of red, a new palette of twelve matte and luminous shades is unveiled this year. From the audacious Rouge N°5 to the enigmatic Rouge Mystique and the sophisticated Rouge Couturière, each addition comes through in woven fabric motif to evoke a sensory experience that’s both visual and tactile. The formula, enriched with Chanel’s exclusive Gardenia Oil, promises all-day comfort. It deeply hydrates the lips, leaving them plump, smooth, and firm, with a velvety finish that absorbs light for a soft yet intense result.
