Johnny Depp remains as the face of Dior Beauty’s latest Sauvage Elixir fragrance
Amidst the controversy surrounding Johnny Depp’s rocky reputation with Hollywood, Dior has shown their support for the actor by continuing to front him as the face of their latest Sauvage Elixir fragrance. Much like this, Dior’s Sauvage has always represented the daring and the bold, which only makes it that more fitting with Depp’s involvement in the famous campaign.
This time, Sauvage Elixir focuses on the tasteful blend of ingredients — grapefruit, sweet wood, and lavender to create a scent that pushes limits in a delightful and bewitching way. Every note of the perfume complements perfectly to invigorates the senses and accentuate its allure. Depp’s strong presence also embodies that of the highly concentrated fragrance of Sauvage, marking them as the perfect duo to bring the campaign to life.
“I wanted to remain true to the decisive notes of Sauvage while bringing them to an unprecedented density. To attain this power, I chose to pare its architecture down to the bare essentials. The trail of this elixir is surprisingly deep and dense,” says François Demachy, Parfumeur-Créateur of Dior.
Packed into a gorgeous 60 ml vial-shaped midnight blue lacquered glass bottle, Sauvage Elixir not only smells like the epitome of eclectic freshness but looks it as well. Demachy describes this best: “Sauvage possesses essential notes to which I wanted to remain faithful while moving towards unprecedented density.
To achieve potency while avoiding a cacophony, I chose to strip it back and expose its structure, retaining only its outline. This elixir is like the continuous, clear and precise line of an engraving. Its scent is astonishingly deep and dense.”
