Hermès Spring Summer 2025 collection goes versatile
Merging classic details with a modern-day touch.
While remaining faithful to its original vision of incorporating practicality and style, Hermès elevated its signature DNA this season by adding sensuality and daring textures. The inventive spirit of the collection is reminiscent of an atelier, where each piece is hand-crafted with meticulous attention to detail. According to the show notes, the French luxury brand drew inspiration for this season's collection from artistic approaches, specifically “versatility,” “reproportion,” and “refraction.” Layers and textures brought these ideas to life in the sculptures, which skilfully combined transparency and lightness to reimagine the dynamics of silhouettes.
Hermès displayed an air of understated elegance that was rich with craftsmanship throughout the show. Translucent textiles, carefully positioned cuts, and understated transparency emphasised the concept of sensuality. Tailoring, always a strength for Hermès, underwent a painless dismantling, transforming traditional silhouettes into contemporary ones that were at once chic and cosy. A high-waisted culotte and a zip-down skirt made of lightweight silk mesh exemplified this adaptability, paying homage to the Maison’s legacy of effortlessly chic clothing.
