After relocating from London to New York in 2016, designer and chief creative officer of DVF, Jonathan Saunders, has exited the house with immediate effect.

Officially announced on Friday, the departure of Jonathan is a surprise, given her short tenure of 19 months with DVF.

In an official statement, Jonathan says, "I am grateful for Diane’s support and for the opportunity of guiding this iconic brand. I am so proud of everything we have accomplished in the past 18 months. I thank the incredible team for their dedication and support, and will continue to be a friend and admirer of the brand."

And that marks the DVF Pre-Fall 2018 collection his last for DVF, which is one inspired by Michelangelo Antonioni’s Zabriskie Point.

On his departure, the founder of DVF, Diane von Furstenberg herself says, "I am so thankful for Jonathan’s beautiful work and the effort and dedication he has put into DVF in the last 18 months. He will leave an important and lasting heritage to the brand."

And with this breaking news, Diane herself says that the company will name a new successor within a month's time.

"He is leaving a team. There are people there…I need a few weeks. I want to make sure that I make the right decision," says Diane.

So stay tuned as we bring you more updates on this!
