The Versace women are fun, confident and ironic for Cruise 2020
Known to be one of the first Italian fashion houses to embrace the American West (since Gianni's days when he adored LA), Versace is taking us back to the West this Cruise 2020 with a fresh new take on pop culture and the western frontier through the eyes of Donatella Versace.
In her words, “Ironic, fun, confident. Always feminine and elegant. The Versace woman embraces all cultures with respect while celebrating her own. She wears her heritage on her sleeve – and her hat!”
This Cruise 2020 sees the Versace women hitting the road in style with a reinterpretation of the wild west theme, which is paired with signature Versace motifs and prints, resulting in a collection of strong, flashy designs juxtaposed with desert tones, Western Barocco prints and neon-bright colours.
And debuting for the first time is the new motif showcasing Gianni Versace’s original handwritten signature. Celebrating the late founder, the signature is interpreted through embroidery, all over prints, and crystal embellishments; and worked onto jean pockets, shirt collars, cowboy hats and tie-dye denim pieces as embellishments.
On bodysuits, pleated skirts and dresses, the motif is created as a form of print fabric, while evening dresses get their touch through the adornment of Swarovski crystals.
Much like the past collections, sensuality and provocativeness are evident as Donatella's personal design stamp for the Italian house, one which we have no complaints about. After all, we all need that boost of sexy in our wardrobe no matter the season or decade.
