Top trends we spotted at the Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture Runways
From Dior to Schiaparelli, here's what designers created for the couture shows to capture our hearts and set the trend for the coming 2023.
The Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture has only just ended and there are already a number of runway trends taking over our fashion mood boards.
The craftsmanship of the collections is exceptional, and there's certainly more to come. At the forefront of this week's designs are dramatic necklines, velvet fabric, and detailed beading.
The creative directors and designers of brands like Dior and Schiaparelli put their all into this season's fashion statements, emphasizing that their clothing is, in fact, artwork. Continue on to see the hottest looks from the Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture collections.
Dramatic Necklines
Designers have definitely gone all out with the necklines for this season's collections, making them a point of focus. There is so much drama and elegance radiating from these designs including Valentino, Schiaparelli and Jean Paulk Gaultier.
Velvet
Velvet has gone in and out of style for decades; however, we can definitely say it's making a comeback once again - most prominently at the Dior show.
Metallic Fabric
Metallic fabrics and glamour always go hand in hand. With their ability to sparkle in the light and reflect colour, this season's designs illuminate the runway and one of our favourite looks came from the house of Fendi.
Beading
Bead embroidery is one of the most time-consuming yet exquisite detailings a designer can do, and we are so excited to see it on display this week from the likes of Valentino, Dior and Schiaparelli.
That swimsuit-esque one-piece from Valentino truly tugged our heartstrings.
Statement Jewellery
Nothing quite catches the eye like chunky, gold earrings and sparkly headpieces. So far, we have seen every designer use their accessories in majestic yet overt ways.
Pointed Shoes
It's all about elevation in soles and this season saw an inclination towards the pointy-shoe style. So far we have seen Dior, Schiaparelli, and Sabina Bilenko perfecting this classic silhouette with utmost grace and elegance.
Neckties and Bowties
Neckties definitely had their moment in 2022. In a slightly more formal iteration of the trend, Chanel featured models wearing the accessory in just about every look this season.
There's really nothing suaver than a cleverly engineered bowtie over a dramatic cocktail dress with a voluminous tulle.
