Cover Story: Nanon Korapat can't stop, won't stop feat. Coach
It’s been 10 years since Nanon Korapat made his offifficial acting debut, but to the Thai star, he’s only at the beginning of his journey.
Shy yet cool, gentle yet charming — this was our first impression of Korapat Kirdpan, popularly known as Nanon, as he walked onto the set of L’OFFICIEL Malaysia’s October 2024 cover shoot in Bangkok. At 23 years old, while many of his peers are still striving to break into the entertainment industry, Nanon already has a decade of acting experience under his belt. His journey began even earlier with TV commercials from the age of three. (Psst… Search “Nanon Korapat first TVC” on YouTube, and you’ll find the videos).
Best known for his roles as “Pang” in the Thai drama The Gifted and “Bran” in the BL series Bad Bunny, Nanon is also flourishing in his singing career. He held his first solo concert, Born To Be BEO, this year following the release of his debut album, The Secrets of The Universe, in 2023. Currently, he is preparing for his role in the highly anticipated series Scarlet Heart Thailand. We caught up with the star before his trip to New York Fashion Week for the Coach Spring/Summer 2025 show.
L’OFFICIEL: Hi Nanon! You were in Malaysia back in February for the opening of the Coach The Exchange TRX store. Tell us more about your experience.
NANON: I was very excited and when I went there, I was so happy to meet everyone. Everyone was so lovely and welcomed me warmly, making that night a great one.
LO: Scarlet Heart Thailand is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated TV series. How are you preparing for your role?
N: I’m preparing as usual. I’ve done some homework by looking at previous versions. I’m also going to the fitness centre these days, preparing my body for what I think will be an intense filming schedule. Right now, I’m waiting for the script, but soon I’ll be learning additional skills that might be used in filming, such as horseback riding and sword fighting.
LO: What are you most looking forward to in filming with the big cast, most of whom (Tu Tontawan, Tay Tawan, Fourth and more) are also your friends?
N: I’m most looking forward to being with everyone. Many of us have worked together before or met in passing, and we have been waiting to work together properly. There are many people I’ve been eager to work with, and it seems like the perfect time has come. I can’t wait for the filming to start.
LO: Aside from being an actor, you’re also a celebrated singer. How does your approach to performing differ between acting and singing?
N: It’s all about storytelling. Telling stories through acting is one way of storytelling, being a singer is another. Right now, I might enjoy making music more than acting because it’s fun and challenging. So, my music work might exceed my acting work for now.
LO: What has been your favourite character to play so far, and is there a particular role you’d like to portray in the future?
N: I like the role of “Oh” from My Dear Loser because it was the first character that made me love acting. As for future characters I’d like to play, I don’t have any specific roles in mind right now. Should any future roles interest me, I will be ready to take them on.
LO: You held your first solo concert this year. What was the most memorable moment for you?
N: When everything was over and recorded, it was like everything we planned and everything I wanted to do was done. Even if some things weren’t perfect, it was great, and it’s the best memory.
LO: From streetwear to suits, we love your versatile sense of style. If you could only rock one outfit for the rest of your life, what would it be?
N: It would probably be jeans and a yellow hoodie — that feels most like me. Usually, I only have black and grey clothes, but when I tried wearing something bright, along with cool boots, it gave me a different look while still being myself.
LO: You’ve been in the entertainment industry since you were 13. It’s been over 10 years now — looking back, is there anything you wish you had known at the start of your career?
N: Everything is always changing and nothing is certain.
LO: What’s your favourite way to rest and relax on your day off?
N: It’s sleeping and doing anything that feels like the biggest waste of time since I work almost all the time.
LO: Personally, what are you looking forward to the most for the rest of 2024?
N: I expect that everything I’ve planned will be accomplished.
LO: Do you have anything to say to your Malaysian fans?
N: Thank you to all the Malaysian fans for your constant support, for following me and giving love. I hope to see you all again.
