In crafting powerful statements from fundamental forms, Hermès emerges as a top contender at the top of its game. At the 2024 Watches & Wonders event, the Maison introduced Hermès Cut, a timepiece collection whose discreet yet compelling design language perfectly resonates with the essence and ethos of Hermès.

Fusing simplicity with immaculate craftsmanship, Hermès Cut epitomises the purity of geometric shapes, notably the circle. The watch’s silhouette is a study in balance where sharp angles and clean lines capture the art and reverence for geometry. In appreciation of the finer details, the watch case boasts an intriguing visual narrative, pairing the refinement of a satin-brushed and polished finish with distinct edges.

A particularly unique touch lies in the crown, positioned at half past one and adorned with a lacquered or engraved H emblem, a symbol of the brand’s heritage and innovation. The watch’s bevel-cut bezel adds depth, playing with light and shadow to frame a silver-toned dial adorned with luminescent Arabic numerals. Besides enhancing readability, the embossed font of the spacious dial also injects vitality and a sense of dynamism.

Underneath the elegant exterior of Hermès Cut lies the Manufacture Hermès H1912 movement, a testament to precision and performance. Through the watch’s transparent case back, we observe the inner workings of its mechanical self-winding calibre that drives the graceful baton-shaped hour, minute and seconds hands. The grey-and-orange-accented minutes track and large seconds hand, marked by a luminous dot, cap the ensemble with a flourish.

Flaunting supple links with a rounded profile and finishes, the metal bracelet integrates exceedingly well into the case design to offer a luxurious yet comfortable wearing experience. The Hermès Cut model is offered with a rubber strap, available in a range of eight vibrant hues, where a nifty interchangeability system provides versatility and personalisation to cater to diverse individual styles.

Debuting in various configurations, from all-steel to a two-tone rendition in steel and rose gold, with or without diamonds, the Hermès Cut transcends mere timekeeping. It rewrites the definition of timeless elegance, playing the role of a long-term companion for those who appreciate subtlety and strength on their wrist.
