A new model joins Swatch’s Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms Collection.

The Bioceramic Scuba Fifty Fathoms Collection represents a collaborative tribute by Blancpain and Swatch to the pioneering Fifty Fathoms timepiece, the inaugural true diver's watch created 70 years ago by a passionate scuba diver.

This timepiece marked a historic milestone by effectively meeting all the requirements for underwater exploration. Following the release of five earlier models — Arctic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean, Indian Ocean, and Antarctic Ocean —, Swatch introduces the sixth addition to the series: Ocean of Storms.

Capturing the essence of the Black Moon, the latest model is presented in shades of black. Continuing the legacy of its five predecessors, the Ocean of Storms features Swatch's ground-breaking SISTEM51 mechanical movement—an entirely automated assembly of 51 components, including a central screw. Boasting an impressive 90-hour autonomy and fortified with advanced anti-magnetic capabilities through its Nivachron™ hairspring, this timepiece stands as a testament to precision and longevity.

Similar to other models, the Ocean of Storms introduces its own nudibranch, Okenia Luna, prominently displayed in a digital print on the rotor—the component responsible for automatic recharging through wrist movement. The full moon is also digitally imprinted on the oscillating weight.

In a nod to Blancpain, the name Fifty Fathoms pays homage to the historical maritime measure of depth, with fifty fathoms equating to 91 meters. Correspondingly, the Ocean of Storms is water-resistant in deep waters down to 91 meters. Crafted from Bioceramic, patented by Swatch, the watch comprises two-thirds ceramic and one-third biosourced material derived from castor oil.

Demonstrating a commitment to ocean preservation, the NATO straps are crafted from recycled fishing nets. The shared Blancpain X Swatch logos adorn the black sunray-finish dial and the crown, with "Swatch" inscribed on the case, mirroring the original Fifty Fathoms watches where "Blancpain" is similarly featured.
