Weekend of Elegance with Longines in Chantilly, France
Every year in June, it is now a tradition for Longines to host the glamorous Prix de Diane as the Title Partner, as the Official Timekeeper and Official Watch. This year’s 170th edition of the prestigious event is the ninth year of partnership between Longines and one of the world’s most elegant equestrian rendezvous.
PRIX DE DIANE LONGINES DAY
Set in the heart of the Chantilly forest, lined by stunning stables and the Princes de Condé chateau, is the charming and bucolic backdrop of the highly awaited event.
Combining horse racing with a stylish picnic, concert, fashion contest, festive village and country-style restaurants, Prix de Diane Longines attracts more than 40,000 spectators every year. French singer-songwriter Clara Luciani, “Best Live Newcomer” of the Victoires de la Musique 2019, made an appearance in the Diane village, lending her contemporary sense of pop artistry to this year’s festivities.
From 2 PM, the world’s greatest fillies’ racing day at the legendary Chantilly racecourse kicked off with no fewer than nine races including the Prix de Diane Longines feature race. To the delight of equestrian enthusiasts in attendance, Longines presented, with its Ambassador of Elegance and Australian actor Simon Baker, classic timepieces to the brilliant winning team of Channel, led by Pierre-Charles Boudot in the eponymous race.
To honour the most elegant lady at the racecourse, Abigail Lopez-Cruz was awarded “Mademoiselle Diane by Longines” with a Record Collection timepiece presented by Baker. Together with exciting races, sophisticated ladies in feminine dresses and extravagant hats form the quintessence of the Prix de Diana Longines—synonymous with elegance, femininity and performance.
CELEBRATING THE LONGINES RECORD COLLECTION
In a prelude to the Prix de Diane Longines at the Chantilly racecourse, a celebration was staged at the historic Domain of Chantilly location on the Saturday evening before.
Guests, global press members and influencers including Malaysian actress-singer Daiyan Trisha (@daiyantrisha) were dramatically ferried by horse-drawn carriages to the majestic Chateau de Chantilly, whose gardens were transformed in grand style for the special event.
Longines Ambassadors of Elegance and Hollywood stars Kate Winslet and Simon Baker were on hand to celebrate with the Swiss watchmaker in presenting its Record Collection as the Official Watch of the 2019 edition of the Prix de Diane Longines.
A perfection of classic elegance and watchmaking excellence, the stainless steel and rose gold Record Collection timepiece houses a movement including a single-crystal silicon balance spring with unique properties and is certified as a “chronometer” by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
