One&Only Desaru Coast presents the third edition of EMBER CURATES

The four-hands gastronomic experience returns to Desaru Coast’s luxury resort for a one-night-only rendezvous.

The EMBER CURATES series will be returning for its third edition on 17 August 2024 at One&Only Desaru Coast’s Ember Beach Club. 

This exceptional event unites the innovative Chef Mano Thevar of the eponymous two-Michelin-starred restaurant Thevar, renowned for his reinterpretations of South Asian cuisine, and Chef Andrew Walsh of one-Michelin-star CURE, with its creative wealth of the Malaysian barbecue grill, juxtaposing East-meets-West flavours and ingredients.

Celebrating the art of dining set against the breathtaking backdrop of the South China Sea along Malaysia’s southeastern shoreline, the exclusive Michelin-starred dinner collaboration features a unique blend of distinct South Asian flavours from Thevar by Mano Thevar, alongside the seafood and barbecue-inspired flavours from Walsh’s signature creations.

The fire-fuelled menu includes these dishes: Hokkaido Scallop with Pearl couscous ponggal & Smoked tomato chutney, Boondhi crumbs to Lamb Rack & Lamb Biryani with Sorrel chutney, Butternut masala, Madras kuzhamb. Ending the epicurean adventure on a sweet note is Rasmalai with Cinnamon Ice- cream with Ghee Cake, Pistachio, Cranberries, and Saffron & Cardamom Cloud topped with Gold leaf, an elevation of the classic and beloved Indian dessert.
