A glimpse of euphoria at Saint Laurent Fall/Winter 2022 Collection
Anthony Vaccarello unveils yet another Saint Laurent collection in front of not only the Eiffel Tower but also several members of the Euphoria cast.
Anthony Vaccarello loves two things: the colour black and Paris, France. Every season, Saint Laurent hosts its latest runway show overlooking the Eiffel Tower, showcasing expertly made garments that centre around black as an anchor. There's glitz, there's glamour, there's joie de vivre.
The entire production is a testament to Vaccarello's level of showmanship, something he has in common with a number of the audience members.
Seated in the front row, Euphoria stars Maude Apatow, Jacob Elordi, and Dominic Fike took in the show alongside other major celebrities like Demi Moore, Victoria Beckham, K-pop rapper Mark Tuan, Catherine Deneuve, Riz Ahmed, Amber Valletta, and Donatella Versace.
The collection itself was an exchange of masculine and feminine dressing standards inspired by writer and activist Nancy Cunard's style in the early 20th century. Her more masculine fashion sense—which was highly outrageous for the era—offered Vaccarello the perfect opportunity to pay homage to the brand's namesake designer and his iconic tuxedo.
Throughout the series of looks, there's a balance of opposites: masculine and feminine, heavy and light, etc. The focus on tension and complementation is what gives the collection its edge—as if it's teetering on the verge of two extremes and finding refuge in the happy medium.
