The Lunch Box bag by Celine is definitely a treat for all
Hedi Slimane has been churning out hit handbags at Celine season after season. His Spring/Summer 2021 collection for the French label was chock-full of polished receptacles.
Many of its offerings feature interesting silhouettes that are vastly different from all the recent lookalikes on the market. From “Sulky Matelassé”, a smart, chain-handled shoulder bag; the “Patapans”, a chain-handle mini briefcase style; the “Couffin”, a sling-it-over-your-shoulder tote to the crown jewel of all, The Lunch Box—these new shapes are taking the social media by storm.
Though the collection is very much targeted at the TikTok generation (very youthful, very Hedi), the bags seem to cater to women of all ages. The Lunch Box, as the name suggests, is shaped after a retro lunch box, opening via the metallic Triomphe clasp which sits on top of a graphic metal frame structure. Inside, you’ll find a lambskin-lined interior separated by a zipped closure.
The boxy, little sandwich-sized handbag works perfectly well as a hand-carry or clutch, and as an over-the-shoulder with the help of an extra leather handle at the side. It is available in four different materials: tan natural calfskin, natural wicker and tan calfskin, black lizard and Triomphe canvas.
The latter features the classic ’70s Triomphe logo that is inspired by the chain surrounding the Arc de Triomphe in Paris. It’s a versatile piece you can carry to any occasion that is certain to capture all the attention both on and offline.
