Enter the Frivole ring. A new addition to a staple collection of the same name, the eight-flower novelty captures the vitality of nature with its unbridled burst of colours. Its polychromatic floral composition consists of five flowers in rose gold with ruby pistils and three in yellow gold with emerald—all subtly placed at different heights which promptly creates an illusion of depth and a profusion of kaleidoscopic elegance when bathed in sunlight.
To achieve the desired outcome, the craftspeople at Van Cleef & Arpels have paid extra attention to the gemstones particularly when it comes to cutting and matching them to create a harmonious set. Mirror polishing—a traditional technique used by the house since the 1920s—is once again brought into play, delicately executed by hand on each petal, to enhance the radiance of the gold and encourage intense reflections.
